Korean skincare routine – Step by step guide
Once you get used to this routine and see the magic happen to your skin, we bet you’ll get obsessed with it. Let’s begin the process!
1. Remove make-up using a remover or oil cleanser
Though you can use a branded make-up remover to get rid of your mascara or eye-liner, we recommended using an oil cleanser for complete removal.
Gently massage a few drops of the oil cleanser on your dry face and neck to smudge the makeup and rinse your face with lukewarm water to further emulsify the cleanser. Massage one more time and rinse thoroughly again.
2. Rinse again with a water-based cleanser
To ensure that there’s no makeup left on your face, wash it again with a water-based cleanser.
3. Exfoliate your skin
Exfoliation of the skin is important to remove the dead cells and open the clogged pores. Gently exfoliate your skin at least twice a week for a soft and smooth skin.
4. Tap your skin with a toner
Toners are useful products that balance your skin’s pH level and dampen it. Pour a few drops on a cotton swab and dab it on your skin or sprinkle some toner on your hands and gently apply on your face working outward.
5. Apply essence to the toned skin
Korean Skincare Routine’s beauty secret – the essence. It is a mixture of serum and toner for repairing damaged skin and hydrating it. Equally, distribute on both your hand and pat it on your toned skin.
6. Use necessary treatment methods
Boosters, serums, ampoules – there are numerous treatment products for revitalizing your skin and tackling with several kinds of skin issues. Whether the problem area is large pores, wrinkles or dead skin, serums are the best bet. Gently apply these to your skin.
7. Put on a sheet mask
If essence is the heart of Korean Skincare Routine, sheet masks are its soul.
Sheet masks come handy in skin-nourishment. Put on a sheet mask and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes. Use at least twice a week for best results.
8. Apply eye-cream
The skin around your eye is as delicate as a rose petal, and it is therefore important to treat it with extreme care. An eye cream helps in protecting the skin around your eyes and keeps it hydrated. Tap some eye cream around the orbital bone using your ring finger.
9. Don’t forget the moisturizer
A moisturizer is your key to healthy, glowing and hydrated skin. Look for a moisturizer that best suits your skin type. Whether it is gel, lotion or a serum, apply it on your face and neck before going to bed every night and after waking up in the morning.
10. Shield your skin from the sun
Last and the most important aspect of the Korean Skincare Routine, wear sunscreen even if you’re stepping out for 5 minutes. It is the most effective way to tackle premature skin aging and prevent skin cancer. To protect your skin from harmful UV rays, apply sunscreen whenever you face the sun.
