Without a complete medical analysis, there is no way to simply diagnosis the cause of stomach pain. Many people get stomach pain after eating and the reason is often different. The symptoms of stomach pain are often described as “stomach pain”.The severity of the pain ranges between a dull throbbing and a sharp and stabbing sensation.

The location, timing, and symptoms are a good way to determine the kind of stomach pain you’re experiencing. For example:

If the pain you’re feeling is a burning sensation, you may have GERD or ulcers. Don’t worry! Ulcers are not a huge cause for concern when it comes to your stomach.

If you notice the pain only occurs when you’re eating a certain type of food, this could indicate a food allergy.

Stomach pain can result from simply eating too much. If your eyes are bigger than your stomach, you may feel bloated after you’ve eaten. If this is the cause, the pain will go away shortly. You simply have to wait it out. You may also have indigestion if you were stressed out while eating or tried to eat too quickly. Eating should always be treated like you have all the time in the world.

Alternatively, take a trip to the bathroom and see if you can relieve some of the pressure from your abdomen.

Stomach pain can be tricky because the pressure may cause you the inability to go on with your day. For most of us, that’s unacceptable. It’s impossible to ignore the cramping and just go on with our day. We also don’t have the luxury of laying in bed until it passes.

Instead, try finding relief from stomach pain by using the list below:

  • Go to the bathroom to try and relieve pressure
  • Release some gas (but be respectful)
  • Take some chamomile or peppermint tea
  • Change your diet to a healthier one
  • Drop lactose from your diet
  • Ditch gluten and any by-product (or reduce the amount in your diet)
  • Add more fibre to your diet
  • Take an acid reflux or antacid tablet

  • Only eat what your stomach can handle
  • Listen to your body when it says you’re full
  • Practice mindful eating by eating more slowly
  • Avoid foods that may cause an allergic reaction
  • Limit the stress around you when eating
  • Reduce the amount of caffeine in your diet
  • Be prepared if you’re trying a new kind of food
  • Stay well-hydrated

If you always seem to have stomach pain after eating, it may be the sign of an underlying medical issue. You want to see your doctor as soon as possible to rule out any medical condition. Otherwise, you could be trying to “take care” of an issue that needs real attention.
